Human Resources Generalist

The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily coordination and administration of all human resource functions across the organization; This person is expected to help cultivate a supportive and caring corporate culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete full cycle recruitment including creation of job postings, candidate screening, conducting interviews and reference checks.
  • Support the new hire onboarding process, to ensure a smooth and successful experience for all new employees.
  • Complete annual bonus calculations and ensure accurate processing in coordination with payroll and accounting teams.
  • Provide guidance to managers and staff on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist with management of the ADP HR system, including new hire set-up and time off tracking.
  • Assist with scheduling of RIBO courses and other licensing processing for new and existing staff.
  • Participate in strategic planning within People & Culture department & broader MIG channels.
  • Participate in continuous improvement, development and administration of employee programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with managing Health and Safety, including JHSC meetings, developing policies, procedures, and training.
  • Support benefits administration, payroll coordination, and leave management to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain up-to-date HR records and documentation.
  • Support, coordinate, action and align with Human Resources Manager to ensure optimal department and team functionality.
  • Adhere to the highest level of privacy and confidentiality.
  • Other responsibilities and special projects, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources
  • CHRP designation an asset
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Human Resources, or office environment
  • People oriented; ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Well organized, attention to detail and ability to prioritize
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; strong excel skills is an asset
