Human Resources Manager

Responsible for the daily management and strategic direction of human resource functions across all divisions. Ownership of employee recruitment, onboarding, development and retention; policy implementation and adherence. Help cultivate a supportive and caring corporate culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and guidance to all staff members on HR related matters.
  • Support full range recruitment process, including interviewing, presenting offers and
    support successful on-boarding.
  • Oversee all HR related functions including but not limited to performance management,
    compliance training, employee relations, disciplines, terminations.
  • Foster a positive work environment where employees feel valued and motivated.
  • Work with the Training & Development team to schedule and implement changes to new
    hire training plans.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend changes to all employee programs (including
    Group Benefits & Retirement Plans) to ensure they are bringing the best value to staff.
    Present feedback and recommendations to Senior Management.
  • Manage ADP HR system.
  • Support Payroll, HR and Management teams with guidance on Employment Standards.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to ensure adequate changes are made to
    improve employee experience.
  • Conflict management; ensure all employee issues are addressed, investigated and dealt
    with in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain all company HR policies and procedures; develop, implement and make
    necessary changes as required.
  • Complete annual wage increase and bonus calculations for all staff based on current
    structures.
  • Liaise with Divisional Managers and Directors to resolve employee concerns and issues
    affecting staff quality and efficiency; provide guidance and make recommendations.
  • Maintain complete and accurate HR records for all employees in compliance with
    relevant standards and legislation.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management to identify processes and best practices; participate in new initiatives and overall strategic planning for the company.
  • Involvement in budgeting; reviewing and monitoring headcount and payroll at all levels to
    achieve business targets.
  • Adhere to the highest level of privacy and confidentiality.
  • Other duties and special projects, as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources
  • CHRP, CHRL or other Human Resources Designation
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a full range HR role, with management experience
  • Previous experience in the Insurance industry preferred.
  • People oriented; ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Well organized, attention to detail and ability to prioritize
