Conquer Cancer Ride – Brent Stefan (McFarlan Rowlands)

This Past weekend, (June 9&10) I Cycled from Toronto to Niagara Falls in support of Conquer Cancer. There was approx 5,000 riders and we raised a new record of 18.1 Million dollars that will go toward the Margaret Princes Hospital.

I would first of all like to thank everyone who made a donation to me towards this fight to conquer Cancer. I would also like to thank those who gave me encouragement to take on such a challenge. I must say it was a huge challenge and something I have never done before. Day one started at the Exhibition grounds in Toronto. We travelled 118 kms at average speed of 26kms/hr and 75% of the ride was in heavy rain and was very hilly not to mention we had to go up the Hamilton Mountain. Once in Hamilton we camped out at Mohawk College (yes, in a tent) On Sunday we left Hamilton and rode another 112 kms at average speed of 27 kms/hr to Niagara Falls in plus 30 degrees weather, man was it hot and exhausting!!!!

This was an experience I will Never forget and would have to say is the best one I have had so far. I have refereed in front of 10,000 people and have golfed in front of a gallery but never experienced the emotions I did on this ride. There were thousands of people lining the streets cheering us on and there was even more people at the finish line. So, Thank you all again, I would never have been able to do this ride and have this experience with out your support!!
